PIA attended the 40th Conference of the International Peace Research Association (IPRA) This year's conference was entitled, "Peace and Conflict in a Time of Globalization", and highlighted the research efforts of peace workers and academics from around the world. Peace in Action used this opportunity to extend its international network and launch new project initiatives on a global scale.
Members of PIA were primarily involved with the Peace Education Commission, Youth and Peace Commission and the Non-Violence Commission. The next official IPRA conference will be held in Calgary, Canada, in 2006.
